VERTROUWEN, 1907 tjalk, 14.8 M x 3.5 M x 0.7 M, 21 gross tons, id#G994-N, registered in Holland. Current hull and liability insurance policy by Schepen Onderlinge of Groningen, Holland

 

  • Diesel Auxiliary Engine- 1985 Perkins 4-108M, 50HP, 4 cylinder with Paragon                                    hydraulic transmission. Bronze 3-blade 16x11 ½ propeller, new in 2003. Main fuel tank is approx 40 gallons, plus (2) 20-liter plastic jerry containers, stored in engine compartment. Fuel consumption approx 2 liters/hr at 1800 rpm. Engine hour meter registers 4750 hours. Access to engine compartment by removing teak grates and opening steel hinged doors. There is a spare prop and spare engine filters, belts and other parts.
  • Bow Thruster- 1991 24-volt, 10-HP Bowman with remote cockpit control. Power by (2) 180-amp, 12-volt batteries in forward compartment, purchased in 2005.
  • Steering by varnished wood tiller in cockpit. Rudder bushings replaced 2003.
  • Batteries for House and Starter.- Each is 180-amp, 12-volt, located in engine compartment. One purchased in 2005 and one in 2004.
  • Battery charging – Either from belt driven 75-amp alternator mounted on auxiliary engine or from (2) 10-amp 220-volt shore power chargers, one mounted in engine compartment and one in forward compartment.
  • Interior heating – Either from diesel 1991 Eberspacher heater in forward compartment with ducted air and 30-gallon diesel daytank or by 1500-watt 220-volt portable heater.
  • Auxiliary ventilation – One 3-speed 220-volt portable fan and one 12-volt fan in sleeping compartment.
  • Aft cockpit is enclosed by stainless steel framed canvas and plexi-glass, with removable side panels. Plexiglass panels have canvas privacy covers. Framing and canvas replaced in 2006. Cockpit has varnished wood benches on 3 sides with cushions. Storage for tools and supplies under benches. Cockpit has folding wood table and portable bench.
  • Mooring equipment includes a traditional 90-pound anchor, anchor chain, and windlass, multiple fenders, 10-foot mahogany walkplank, four ¾-inch mooring lines with eyesplices, four heavy steel stakes, a heavy sledge hammer and miscellaneous extra lines. There are navigation lights and ship’s bell. There is a fold-down steel mast and boom. Stern mounted flagpole. Four life jackets, life ring and four floating cushions. Forward utility compartment accessible by exterior deck hatch. Several boat hooks and brushes stored on deck.
  • There are two fold-up bicycles, three folding chairs, 200 feet of power cord, 400 feet of water hose, electrical and hose adapters, portable rolling cart, pousette, several flower boxes. Varnished decorative mahogany trim for the bow and caprails are removable for winter storage. There is a charcoal grill.
  • Galley has Travler 3-burner propane cookstove, with oven. Propane for cookstove, refrigerator and hot water heater is located in vented cockpit locker containing two 15 kilo rechargeable propane tanks. The refrigerator is Electrolux undercounter with small freezer section, powered by propane or 220-volt

shorepower. Hot water heater is instantaneous Fasto propane unit serving galley sink, lavatory and tub-shower, vented into cockpit. Galley sink is single compartment recessed in ceramic tile counters. Pressure water from 12-volt Shuflo circulating pump and accumulator tank under counter. There are drawers and base cabinets under and adjacent to sink and there is a continuous row of mahogany base cabinets for storage on starboard side of main cabin. Aft of galley is wood and glass entry door and aft bulkhead of wood and glass panes.

  • Eating area is forward of galley, containing table and cushion covered bench on three sides with cushion backs. Table lowers to make into guest double bed. There is a large opening wood and glass skylight over the table. There are eight opening bronze portholes in the main cabin. Skylight has removable canvas and plexiglass cover. Ports have insect screens. Main cabin curved ceiling is painted wood with insulation. Storage under eating benches. 220-volt and 12-volt vacuum cleaners included. There are several 12-volt and 220-volt lamps and plug-ins. There is a portable kerosene lamp.
  • Bath area contains manual marine toilet and bathtub with telephone shower. 12-volt pump drains tub. Bronze dorade ventilator on deck, and opening port.
  • Forward sleeping area contains two standard single beds with mattresses, bookshelves between beds, a lavatory with stool and medicine cabinet, and two base cabinets for clothes. There is a hanging locker starboard of the bathroom. The forward sleeping area has less than standing headroom, which has not proved to be a detriment. There are opening skylights over each bed and four opening ports in the sleeping area.
  • Carpet covers wood subfloor of the main cabin and sleeping area, vinyl in the bathroom.  All ports are curtained.
  • There is a portable radio, tape player, CD player. There are portable spotlights for tunnel use. There is a compete supply of linens, pillows, duvets, towels, etc. There is a complete supply of cooking and eating utensils. There is a supply of tools and extra parts for painting and repairing almost any part of the exterior and interior of VERTROUWEN.
